Notice Of Educational Options

Per section 118.57 of Wisconsin State Statute, the Fond du Lac School District is required to annually notify parents of the educational options available to children who reside in the school district. Said options and applicable links to a current listing of educational options are available below.

Please contact your child's school to request a printed copy of the most recent school report card.

Notice of Special Needs Voucher Program

Per 15.7915 of Wisconsin State Statute, the Fond du Lac School District is required to annually notify families of students with disabilities of the Special Needs Voucher Program available to children who reside in the school district. This program was created under Wisconsin Act 55 and will began in the 2016-17 school year. The applicable link to further information is available here.

Notice of Student Academic Standards in the Fond Du Lac School District in Effect for the 2024-25 School Year

The Fond du Lac School District has adopted the Wisconsin Academic Standards in all subject areas including: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Personal Financial Literacy, Music, Art, Physical Education, Health Education, World Language, Information and Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Technology and Engineering. Child Find and Student Services

The District must locate, identify, and evaluate all resident children with disabilities, including children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disabilities. The school district has a special education screening program to locate and screen all children with suspected disabilities who are residents of the District and who have not graduated from high school. Upon request, the District will screen any resident child who has not graduated from high school to determine whether a special education referral is appropriate. Infectious Disease Outbreak Readiness Plan

The Fond du Lac School District will take whatever measures necessary to identify, and contain, in cooperation with local, state or national public health authorities, the further spread of outbreaks of infectious disease.

Administration of Medication/Emergency Care Policy and Procedure

No Child Left Behind, Homeless Students - Equal Educational Opportunities

Children of homeless individuals and unaccompanied homeless youth (youth not in the physical custody of a parent/guardian) who are actually living in the District, or who were enrolled in the District when they became homeless, shall have equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including comparable services, as provided to other children and youth who reside in the District. The Superintendent shall designate an employee to be the District's liaison for homeless children and youth, who will be responsible for administration of this policy. Notification of Rights Under the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA)

PPRA affords parents certain rights regarding our conduct of surveys, collection and use of information for marketing purposes, and certain physical exams. The entire document is available in pdf format below.

Student Nondiscrimination

It is the policy of the Fond du Lac School District, pursuant to §118.13 and §111.31-§111.395, Wis. Stats. and PI 9, along with exceptions and defenses as defined by law, that no person shall be subject to discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, race, national origin, ancestry, color, creed, religion, age, pregnancy, marital or parental status, arrest or conviction record, or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability in its educational programs and in employment. Title IX Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs and Activities

he Fond du Lac School District is committed to maintaining an educational and work environment that is free from discrimination based on sex, including sexual harassment.  We believe that every student and staff should feel supported, welcomed and respected and as such shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of sex.

Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 ("Title IX") is a federal law intended to ensure sex and gender equality and protect students and staff against sexual harassment in all school programs and activities, extending to admission and employment.

Pursuant to our Title IX obligations, the Board has developed Policy 2266 - Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities (approved 9/28/20, revised 5/23/22). This policy applies to individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Student Records Notice

The Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requires school districts to provide annual notice of student and parents' rights regarding student records; the existence of the Student Records Policy (8330) and where copies can be obtained; and, of the opportunity to file a complaint with the Family Policy and Regulations Office of the Department of Education. Directory Information (Excerpt From Policy 8330 Student Records)

Each year the District Administrator shall provide a public notice to students and their parents of the District's intent to make available, upon request, certain information known as "directory information." The Board designates as student "directory information":

  1. a student's name;

  2. photograph;

  3. participation in officially recognized activities and sports;

  4. height and/or weight, if a member of an athletic team;

  5. date of graduation;

  6. degrees and awards received.

Parents and eligible students may refuse to allow the District to disclose any or all of such "directory information" upon written notification to the Board within fourteen (14) days after receipt of the District Administrator's annual public notice or enrollment of the student into the District if such enrollment occurs after the annual public notice. Any parent or eligible student who refuses to allow disclosure of directory data and who participates in the extra-curricular activity must complete the appropriate acknowledgment, which includes a limitation on the refusal to disclose directory information obtained during the course of the student’s participation in extra-curricular activities. Waiver of School Fees or Fines

Policy 6152.01 Waiver of School Fees or Fines outlines the eligibility requirements and procedures by which families can request a waiver of school fees.

Food Services

Policy 8500 Food Services outlines the District food service program available to families including procedures on dietary modifications, meal charges, bad debts and negative account balances.

Wellness

Policy 8510 Wellness outlines aspects related to wellness in the District.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals

Policy 8531 Free and Reduced-Price Meals notifies families of the availability of participation in the Free & Reduced Meal programs. The application is available on the District website and linked in the Annual Student Information Verification (ASIV) process.
